Africa in Perspective

calendarclock - (BST)

A half-day webinar with senior Africa experts examining the continent's progress amid the backdrop of threats from armed violence.

The African Union’s Agenda 2063, sets out seven aspirational commitments in its African development and transformation programme intended to enable Africa to fulfil its potential.

However, across sub-Saharan Africa, crime, violent extremism, insurgency and localised and communal violence continue to undermine many of the effort put in place to date. While African countries have made important progress in governance since the early 1990s, armed violence has been a persistent threat to the consolidation and further advancement of these achievements.

As part of the Royal United Services (RUSI) efforts to address these questions and many more, RUSI's Africa in Perspective webinar featured a panel of RUSI experts, leading African dignitaries and senior African experts who examined many of these issues.
