RUSI is delighted to host the second RUSI-Ditchley Foundation roundtable, this time revisiting the discussions had at the recent Ditchley conference on Britain's current negotiations with the EU and the upcoming in/out referendum.

This event will follow the Ditchley Foundation's October conference, which brought together a diverse range of policy makers from the UK and a range of European nations to discuss Britain's relationship with the EU and the upcoming in/out referendum. Predictably there was plenty of disagreement about the prospect of the UK leaving the EU, but all agreed that stakes are high and all bets are off as to the outcome of the vote.

To discuss this crucial issue in more depth, RUSI is pleased to welcome a panel of experts to look again at some of the key questions pertaining to the political, economic and security arguments for and against Britain's membership of the EU. Chaired once more by Sir John Holmes, Director of the Ditchley Foundation, the panel will feature:

  • John Peet, Political Editor, The Economist
  • Raoul Ruparel, Co-Director, Open Europe
  • Dr Charles Tannock MEP
  • Roger Bootle, Managing Director, Capital Economics

As with the previous RUSI-Ditchley event, this will be a unique opportunity for those who did not attend the initial conference to hear directly from the attendees about its conclusions. For more information about the conference, please click here.
