Cyber security has become a priority issue globally, a fact further underscored by the Covid-19 pandemic. In this wide-ranging discussion, Maggie Hassan and Robert Hannigan will offer their perspectives on the challenges and opportunities for greater transatlantic co-operation on cyber security. They will also discuss the need to strengthen private-public partnerships, and to develop and implement coordinated response strategies to the escalating risks of cyber threats, including Russian/Chinese interference in elections, disinformation and the defence of critical national infrastructures.
Maggie Hassan is the United States Senator for New Hampshire. She is the second woman in American history to be elected both Governor and Senator, having served as the Governor from 2013 to 2017. Senator Hassan is currently on the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs.
Robert Hannigan CB is a Distinguished Fellow of RUSI, Chairman of BlueVoyant International and a Senior Adviser at McKinsey & Co.
