A lecture by Ambassador Sarah MacIntosh CMG, Permanent Representative to the United Kingdom’s Delegation to NATO.

European security and the stability in the Euro-Atlantic area are at the core of NATO’s business. In her lecture, Ambassador MacIntosh will discuss how NATO is evolving to meet the new threats posed by both state and non-state actors.

Speaker Biography 

Ambassador Sarah MacIntosh CMG took up her current appointment as Permanent Representative to the United Kingdom’s Delegation to NATO in January 2017. She joined the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) in 1991. She has served at UK missions to the UN in New York and Vienna, the British embassy in Madrid, in Kosovo as strategy coordinator for the UN mission, and as High Commissioner to Sierra Leone. Ambassador MacIntosh was a fellow at the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs at Harvard University from 2008 to 2009. She was Director, Strategic Finance from 2009 to 2011; Director, Defence and International Security from 2011 to 2014 and Director General, Defence and Intelligence from 2014 to 2016.
