Keir Starmer on the Implications of Brexit

A lecture by Keir Starmer QC MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union.

In his lecture, Keir will consider the wide ranging policy implications for the United Kingdom of leaving the European Union.


Keir Starmer QC MP has served since 2015 as the Labour Member of Parliament for Holborn and St Pancras and is currently a member of the shadow front bench team, as spokesperson on Brexit. He has been a barrister since 1987, acting principally as a defence lawyer specialising in human rights issues. He served as Director of Public Prosecutions and Head of the Crown Prosecution Service from 2008 to 2013. He is the author and editor of several books about criminal law and human rights.
