Gulf Security Roundtable<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Tuesday 6th September

10.00-11.00

The Royal United Services Institute will host a special roundtable discussion with

H.E. Sayyid Badr Bin Hamad Al-Busa'idi, Under Secretary for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman, focusing on security issues in the Arabian Peninsula and the <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Persian Gulf.

The discussion will provide opportunity to raise questions such as the response of GCC states to the Iranian nuclear issue, future security structures in the region after the stabilisation of Iraq and the consequences of the dispersal of militants active in Iraq to other parts of the region.

The event will take place from 1000 to 1100 on Tuesday 6th September at the RUSI building on Whitehall.  The Undersecretary will make some initial comments, after which there will be an informal discussion.  The number of participants will be capped at 15 and the discussion will be off the record.

Due to the short time before the event will take place and the limited number of places, please register immediately with sabrinad@rusi.org.
