Gaza Reconstruction: What Role for Qatar and Other Regional Players?

08 June 2021, 14:00
Our panel discussion focuses on what is next for Gaza and what role Qatar – which has been prominent in tackling the plight of Palestinians in Gaza for many year – as well as other regional players can play in delivering humanitarian and reconstruction aid.

After the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, international focus is shifting to the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip. Everyone agrees that humanitarian relief and assistance is required. The Biden administration has pledged aid, while UK Foreign Minister Dominic Raab and various other European representatives have also signalled willingness to help. Yet, most donors are also united in their determination to ensure that aid is deployed for humanitarian reasons, without jeopardising the ceasefire.
