Decoding Dehumanisation: Preventing Dehumanisation through Neuroscience

25 July 2018, 10:30
RUSI Whitehall
Dehumanisation - perceiving other people as less human - has accompanied some of the worst episodes in human history, from the Holocaust to slavery. Although many recognise the importance of dehumanisation, policymakers have limited tools to detect the onset of dehumanisation and to then prevent and disrupt it.

Based on cutting-edge research across five continents, Beyond Conflict is creating evidence-based tools to better prevent systemic discrimination, reduce conflict, and prevent mass atrocities.

RUSI is delighted to host Beyond Conflict for a roundtable discussion where they will share their latest work on dehumanisation.

Speakers include:

  • Tim Phillips, CEO & Co-Founder, Beyond Conflict
  • Lee-Or Ankori-Karlinsky, Senior Program Officer, Beyond Conflict

The roundtable is by invitation only. For further information or to register your interest, please contact Sajid Ali via
