CANCELLED Disarmament after the Nuclear Ban Treaty
On the 20 September 2017 an international treaty on the prohibition of nuclear weapons opened for signature at the UN. The treaty was adopted following the vote of 122 states in favour of the text, and it is anticipated that all these states will join the legally binding treaty to ban nuclear weapons. Yet, no state possessing nuclear weapons or that relies on a nuclear armed state for its security, will sign the treaty. All other disarmament efforts seem to have reached an impasse.
This event has been cancelled.
