The Silent Alliance - 300 Years of Anglo-German Co-operation

In association with the British-German Officers’ Association, the British Army’s Strategic & Combat Studies Institute and the German Armed Forces Military History Research Institute to mark the 300th anniversary of the Battle of Blenheim.

The aim of the conference is to examine British-German co-operation and influence over the last 300 years by the presentation and discussion of a number of topics of mutual historical and current interest.

The conference seminar will be held at Rhodes House, near to New College (please note that this venue is unsuitable for people with mobility difficulties) and will cover 2 themes:

· Day 1 will consider the historical context of the British-German military relationship.

· Day 2 will look at contemporary activities focusing on co-operation in multinational military operations.

An evening reception on Monday 6 September and a dinner on Tuesday 7 September will be held in New College, Oxford. Accommodation is available at the College. (Maximum 200 delegates) No car parking is available at New College or Rhodes House.
