Iraqi Perspectives Project: A View of Operation Iraqi Freedom from Saddam’s Senior Leadership The overthrow of Saddam Hussein’s regime in Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) opened up one of the world’s most secretive governments to outside analysis, providing a once in a generation opportunity for military leaders and historians to understand the decision making process of a former adversary. As part of the US Joint Forces Command’s (USJFCOM) efforts to understand the reasoning behind the actions of Saddam’s regime, Kevin Woods led a two year study into the former Iraqi military and leadership interviewing principle figures and reviewing captured documents. An overview of these findings was presented at RUSI on 29 June 2006.

Martin van Creveld Speaks at RUSI As one of eight seminars held by RUSI, as part of the Westminster Foundation sponsored project; 'The Role of Reserve Forces in an Age of Military Transformation', Professor Martin van Creveld, of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem addressed a closed seminar at RUSI on the Israeli Defence Force (IDF). The findings of this project will be published in a Whitehall report in late 2006.
