The 2010 Africa-France Summit

France is increasingly seeking to support and promote Africa, moving beyond privileged relations with its former colonies, and engaging multilaterally across the whole continent. Meanwhile, African leaders welcome French support for a broad range of African-led security, politics and finance initiatives. But was the Africa-France summit any more than a box-ticking exercise?
