Urumqi, One Year On

Recent ethnic riots in neighbouring Kyrgyzstan have shone a light once again on the simmering tensions in Xinjiang. Since the violence of July last year, in which Uighurs and Han Chinese faced off in the streets of Urumqi, order has returned, but relations are not fully mended.
