    Tony BurbridgeA presentation by Tony Burbridge CBE, Future Submarines Director, BAE Systems - Submarine Solutions.
     
    Long term sustainability of the UK submarine industry will require clear direction and commitment from the government in the form of future programmes that provide a regular rhythm for design and construction activities. In his presentation, Tony Burbridge will show that without this, industry will be unable to provide and nurture the wide range of skills and capabilities that a nuclear submarine programme requires. These attributes are unique and complex in comparison to those required for other shipbuilding programmes and they must be continuously exercised.
     
    Tony Burbridge will outline the ongoing activities of the Ministry of Defence’s Submarine Enterprise Performance Programme and emphasise the need for fully integrated working by the key submarine industry partners and their respective extensive supply chains. He will also address the affordability issue and discuss why industry must offer innovative and demonstrably cost effective solutions, and then deliver them predictably to time and to budget.

    Refreshments will be served from 1515.
