multimap About the event:
Imran Khan is Chairman of Pakistan’s Tehreek-e-Insaf party which he established in 1996 and which is enjoying growing popularity especially amongst the youth and the disenfranchised of the country. Mr Khan’s political agenda is to fight corruption and to promote democratic freedom in Pakistan while his movement strives to combat illiteracy and abject poverty.
He and his party led calls for the restoration of the Chief Justice of Pakistan when he was removed from his post by former President Musharraf in March 2007. Mr Khan was subsequently arrested and charged with ‘treason’ but was later released due to massive protests. Mr Khan will talk about the crises currently facing his country and will provide a strategic outlook for the future democratic development and security of Pakistan.
Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis and priority will be given to members.
