Olivier Grouille

Position: Research Associate

Olivier Grouille previously held the position of Head of Land Operations and Capabilities at RUSI.

Within the Military Sciences Department Olivier ran a research programme that supported the development of land forces and contributed to the debate about the way in which they are recruited, trained, structured and equipped. His research also involved those Joint capabilities that support the land campaign.

His research has produced objective analysis of key elements of current operations (focusing on Afghanistan) and the capabilities, conceptual underpinnings and operating precepts of land forces. Current research interests include:

• Future Army Structures (Next Steps)

• Armoured Fighting Vehicles

• COIN and Irregular Warfare

• Counter-IED

• Helicopters

• UAVs

• Cross-government Stability Operations
